This was the best meal I'd ever had recently. It was absolutely mouthwatering and this is all I have left to show for it:

It was 2 Sol Veggie Burger patties on 2 slices of WW bread. OMG! I pretty much creamed while eating these, it was absolutely amazing. Slathered with mustard, topped with onions, spinach, tomato slices and pickled hot peppers it was an orgasm for my mouth. I will be rushing out to buy more boxes of these burgers (they are on sale this week at RC Superstore).

Some of my eats from the past few days...

Kevin was starving when he got here on Friday so we did a restaurant trip out to Kelsey's. He had a shrimp and crab pasta dish (which I have a blurry pic to prove) and I had a veggie burger (w/bruschetta, tzatiki, red onion and mustard), side salad and a piece of Kevin's pesto garlic bread. I'd like to say I took half the meal home, but I didn't. I scarfed it down.

Yesterday, for a pre-workout snack I had a Luna bar and an orange. Then for lunch after my spin class I had a spinach/tomato/onion/pickled hot pepper sandwich with a few dill pickles...For dinner I had a spinach salad with onions, red peppers, salsa and a small chicken breast (grilled with a cayenne&cumin rub). Yummo-s!

visiting my grandparents

>> Tuesday, December 22, 2009

I'm visiting my grandparents during my month off from classes (gasp! how could I be so lucky) and I normally don't keep my camera attached to my hip like most bloggers. I'm trying to work on it though! I figure tomorrow I will borrow my grandfather's camera and go from there.

Christmas is Friday, which for a poor struggling student is scary...for most people it is scary. My family is mostly getting boozey brownies (which I hope to have pictures of me making tomorrow afternoon). I can't really afford to go all out, and I am hoping they agree its the thought that counts.

My throat and back have been sore all afternoon. My grandma thinks the throat is from the heating of the house, and my back I think is from sleeping funny (since I'm not in my bed). I'm just exhausted.

Top: My first year at university (with my housemates and friends).
Bottom: Thanksgiving with my mom's side of the family (I'm the one on the far right).

So lately I have been reading a lot of the fitness and nutrition blogs that are out there so much so that I wanted to make my own.

I have been struggling with my weight since I was about 9 years old. By the time I was 13, I weighed over 200lbs. Throughout high school it was more of the same, size 18 and shopping at only plus size stores. By the time I hit university my weight was really becoming an issue. I was worried about my future health and lets be honest, guys.

I started my weight loss journey in January 2008, and by the time September 2008 hit, I had lost about 75lbs. I was now weighing in at 150lbs and wearing clothes that I haven't been able to since the 5th grade! I was shopping anywhere, fitting into everything and feeling great. But of course, I wasn't done. I worked on maintaining that weight for a year, and this past September I joined Weight Watchers.

I have lost about 12.5 pounds on WW, I am down to 137.5lbs! This blog will help hold me accountable for my weight loss, health and general well being and I hope to gain some readers along the way. I would love to create an atmosphere at my blog of support and encouragement on my side and yours!
